Las Salinas under Noel's waters...

Whether you are or not invloved in the discussion about Global Warming,
it would be very difficult not to conclude that there is quite a change happening
to our weather system,

Years ago my mother used to tell me stories about the migration of red
sea crabs that would cross the eastbound higway during the rainy season,
this was the highway she loved to use to go to her favorite beach, Boca Chica.

I eventually did see this migration in a very different and sad scale possibly twice
in my youth... but my children will not. They will never have this experience of
the island's exuberance and colorfullness to environmental miss-management
both globally and locally.

Any "salinero" (Las Salinas commoner) would surely have told anyone that
"it never rains in Las Salinas.." but Noel, the storm, brought so much rain that
the county's elders have but a single memory of a similar event, Super Cyclone David,
back in 1979....
